ReplyDeleteJames,
DeleteFind it fascinating that we both have seen many of the same concerts you mentioned, back in the golden days of real rock and roll freedom. But what blows me away is the fact that you were invited backstage to meet Thin Lizzy (one of my all time favorite hard rock bands). Wanted to go to that concert, was bummed missed it, but did see the '79 Black Rose tour at D.O.G. It was the last show Gary Moore did with T.L, after him and Phil had a huge blow out backstage afterwards, in their trailer. Gary grabbed his guitar, took a cab straight from Oakland, back home to Ireland. Of course as you know...Snowy White came on board to replace him in the middle of that tour, went on to record Chinatown with Thin Lizzy. Speaking of the Sea Hags? Frank Wilsey and I started playing together in a garage band when we were teenagers, with his older brother Tommy, and my younger brother, Fred. Tommy and I went together to see that '77 Tower concert at Winterland, with Wishbone Ash and Eddie Money. Heard of Warlord, but never heard theirs or Saint's music. It would be a pleasure to possibly talk some day as well. Cheers.
Cheers Daniel
